(the Trufig products do show a frame but are still way cool). But now that I know I can get just the Bocci 22.3.2 button, I may have to rethink my sense of light-switch chic. Here I was thinking I was being stylish with my Honeywell Tap-Lite switches, which put a single pushbutton in a clear plexiglass frame held in place without screws so the surrounding paint or wallpaper shows through (shown below). Ooo I like those Bocci outlets, but it's their built-in light switch that really floats my boat. ![]() One other reason I would use these in a bathroom is that the trim is one of the things that degrades and discolors in a humid environment like a bathroom, and there *is no trim.īut the problem I see with using these selectively is potentially that they make the ordinary recessed trim, which is perfectly fine otherwise, if you buy a decent one, look "inferior" by comparison. But one of the recessed fixtures would be in the shower, and I am not sure the one I would use comes in wet-rated. I thought about using these in my bathrooms, which are very small, have a ceiling slightly under 8 feet, and everything is very noticeable. The funnel shaped ones almost disappear when they are off because there is no edge anywhere. I am not a fan of the overuse of recessed cans but if I had the money, this is the sort I would use because they are very discreet. I think this is one of those products that just highlights the growing discrepancy of discretionary income: when you could spend $60K on recessed light fixtures. Can't we have a room in the house without a tv? Read your wonderfully displayed books in peace and enjoy that room. Do not put a tv over the fireplace or built into the cabinet. ![]() The doors could be connected to the drawers. You might be able to install heavy duty drawer hardware in order to slide pull out drawers filled with LPs. ( I didn't know about them when I posted previously). In reference to the bottom cabinets of the bookcase and your LP collection. This will help tie the ceiling and walls together since the wood looks like it is 'put' in place and capped afterward. You can cover the old crown over without even removing it. Also bring the top of the bookcase to the ceiling and tie everything together with crown molding. Not quite literally but to give a sense of the direction I'm going in. ![]() The pictures below will illustrate what I mean. A nice mirror would work nicely there.as well. Get rid of the wood wall over the fireplace. Square off the slab on the floor and let your new flooring fill in the void on each side.Square off the mantle and either cover it with finish work or leave it the rough look, but either way add supports. I would suggest making the fireplace a focal point with some changes.
